I was having a hard time coming up with a theme for Leilas birthday party this year. We were set on Tinkerbell because she has shown interest in Tinkerbell. We looked at the store and found a few ideas for cake toppers, candles and some decorations. But Leila really doesn't eat cake so I was not sure what to do...ice cream cake maybe???
The only other idea I came up with was Cat in the Hat. She asks Grandpa to turn on Cat in the Hat every morning and he says she watches it. We rented two Cat in the Hat movies from the library and both kids sat and watched for 10 minutes...the longest I have ever seen either kid stare at the tv. So, I asked Leila if she wanted a Tinkerbell or Cat in the Hat cake and she got excited and said Cat in the Hat. I switched it around and asked if she wanted Cat in the Hat or a Tinkerbell cake and she still said Cat in the Hat. I asked her a few days later and she still wants Cat in the Hat. So, Cat in the Hat it is.
I'm not sure what to do for food/cake. A few ideas are green eggs (deviled eggs) and ham, jello in a cup layered red jello/cool whip/jello/cool whip in a clear cup and a cupcake cake in the shape of a hat or a few stacked circle cakes. I'm in the process of searching for more meal ideas to go along with Cat in the Hat.
